Ares Side Table Smoked Gold With White Banswara Marble

White Banswara marble is one of those materials that photographs can't quite do justice to. It's not a stark, bright white; it's softer than that, with grey veining that wanders across the surface in these quiet, unhurried lines, and now and then a thread of warm taupe comes through. Because it's natural stone, the top you receive will be entirely its own, and we love that about it.

The base is smoked gold, a single slender line of metal rising from a floor ring up to the marble, and nothing more. It's the most restrained of the five colourways, which is exactly what makes it so easy to place. It works in cool rooms and warm ones, against pale walls and dark, alongside linen and velvet equally. If you're ever unsure which Ares to go for, this is the one we'd pick first.

It's also the one we reach for when we want to layer. The proportions are identical across every version of the table, so if you wanted to sit the white marble alongside the bronze or aged gold in the same room, they read as a considered set rather than an accident.
