Ares Side Table Aged Gold With Black Markino Marble

Black Markino marble is not a subtle material, and that's precisely why we love it.

The base is a deep, near-black stone with a shimmer to it that catches the light in a way that's difficult to describe until you see it in person. The white veining runs through it, but it's quieter than you might expect from a black marble, more of a gentle tracing across the surface than a sharp contrast. And because it's natural, the veining on yours will be completely different to the one in the shoot, which is part of what makes it special.

The base is aged gold, which doesn't soften the marble, but it enhances it. There's a richness to this combination that the other colourways don't quite have, and it works across a wider range of rooms than you might expect. We've used it in maximalist schemes where it holds its own amongst pattern and colour, and we've used it as a single considered accent in a much quieter space, where it becomes the thing the whole room orbits around.

If you want to layer it, the proportions are identical across every version of the Ares, so sitting this alongside the bronze or aged silver reads as intentional rather than accidental.

As a natural material, marble is porous and can be susceptible to staining. We recommend wiping spills promptly to keep it looking its best. As with all natural stone, each top is unique; colouration and veining may vary slightly from the images shown.
